Old Farm Veterinary Hospital in Frederick, MD Seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant!

Old Farm Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA accredited and thriving private veterinary practice located in Frederick, MD. We provide routine and emergency veterinary needs, boarding services, and professional grooming. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This is a supportive position that gets a little taste of everything the veterinary hospital does. This can be a perfect entry level opportunity for someone who wants to cultivate a career in veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient exams and procedures
• Providing care and feeding to hospitalized animals
• Administering treatments and medications as prescribed by the veterinarians
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the hospital
• Perform basic laboratory tests
• Communicate with clients regarding their pets’ health and treatment plans
• Maintaining accurate medical records

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with animals, preferable in a veterinary setting is a plus but we are willing to provide on-the-job training for the right fit
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Physical ability to lift and restrain animals when necessary
• Have a positive attitude and a passion for animal welfare
