Turkey Creek Animal Hospital/Animal Wellness Center in Plant City, FL is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant. Puppin Vets is a full-service, multi-location veterinary hospital serving local pets for over 50 years. Our practices are focused on quality patient care and unmatched client service.

Veterinary assistants support both veterinarians and veterinary technician in their daily tasks. The assistant is expected to assist in the restraint and handling of animals, maintain clean working environments at all times, monitor hospitalized patients, assist in surgery when applicable, restock the hospital regularly and spend time on clerical duties. Assistants also help during examinations and procedures of pets; prepare vaccines and other medications according to Veterinarian instructions; collect, prepare, and label samples such as fecal and blood for outside laboratory testing; properly label and dispense medications; review paperwork with clients and process payments.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years veterinary or medical experience preferred
  • 3+ years customer service experience preferred
  • Committed to quality medicine and passionate about client education
  • Work well on a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent
