Description

Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Coordinator

Sheridan Pet Care – Sheridan, WY

“Every pet has a story, and we want to be a part of it.”

Sheridan Pet Care is not just another veterinary clinic! We are a bond-centered, relationship-based practice built on connection, compassion, and community impact.

We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Coordinator who enjoys both patient care and client interaction. This is a cross-functional role for someone who thrives moving between the front and back of the hospital and understands that both spaces are equally important to the client experience.

We are looking for someone who values empathy first, teamwork over position, and understands that communication is just as important as clinical skill.

Who We Are

Sheridan Pet Care is a locally owned and intentionally independent, small animal practice devoted to caring for dogs and cats through every stage of life. We provide comprehensive services including:

  • surgery
  • advanced dentistry with full-mouth dental radiographs
  • internal medicine
  • a fully equipped in-house lab and pharmacy
  • both in-clinic and house-call appointments

We are committed to delivering exceptional medicine in a way that feels thoughtful and supportive. As we work toward AAHA and Fear Free certification, we focus on creating an environment where pets feel safe and clients feel heard.

Sheridan Pet Care is building something meaningful and sustainable. Our practice is grounded in kindness, transparency, teamwork, and shared success.

The Role

This is a dual-position role that blends clinical support with client service.

In the hospital, you will assist our technicians and doctors with patient care, low stress handling, exam room preparation, laboratory support, treatment area organization, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

At the front desk, you will welcome clients, coordinate appointments, support phone and text communication, and help guide clients through their visit with clarity and warmth.

We believe the client experience begins the moment someone walks through the door or calls the practice. In this role, you will help create that experience while also supporting the medical team behind the scenes.

You will be cross-trained and trusted to help wherever needed. Your flexibility, attention to detail, and positive energy will directly contribute to the culture we are building.

Who You Are

We hire for character, emotional intelligence, and coachability.  Skills can be taught; integrity cannot.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have prior veterinary assistant or client service experience
  • Communicate clearly and kindly
  • Stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Enjoy interacting with people as much as caring for animals
  • Value teamwork and collaboration
  • Take pride in creating a welcoming, professional atmosphere

Fear Free handling experience is a plus. A willingness to learn is essential.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $19–$21 per hour based on experience
  • Paid time off
  • Pet care discounts
  • Compassionate, people-first leadership
  • Collaborative team meetings and shared growth
  • Intentional culture built to prevent burnout
  • Mental health workplace resources (CLEAR Blueprint)
  • Continuing education opportunities and paid CE days
  • Support for Fear Free certification and Human–Animal Bond training
  • Commitment to pursuing AAHA accreditation
  • Benefits designed to grow and expand as the practice grows

Why This Practice?

Culture is everything here. Clients feel seen and valued. Our team is supported and trusted. We are building a practice where relationships matter, communication is intentional, and everyone understands their role in creating an exceptional experience.

If you are looking for a role where you can grow, contribute meaningfully, and be part of something purpose-driven, we would love to start a conversation.
